Sutter Buttes painting has been stolen!

New Earth Market invited me to share my artwork in their onsite cafe though the month of December 2024. On December 1, I installed four large paintings at the market and then proceeded to advertise and put out weekly messages encouraging people to visit the market, and while there, check out my showcased artwork. The Saturday after Christmas, December 28, I learned that my painting was missing. My sister messaged me that she had been in the market that day and when she asked a clerk where the painting was, the clerk said that she hadn't seen it for the last three days. Not good. The following Sunday I called and spoke with an assistant manager, who checked the office for me, but was unsure as to where the painting was and asked that I speak with the store manager when she returns Monday morning. So I visit the store barely after opening, before she gets sidetracked with the business of the day. She said she didn't know where the painting was but had "my contact information and would contact me should they hear anything." Ummm no. I asked if she could pull surveillance video from the last few days because the painting is four feet wide. I feared it must be an inside job, doubting that anyone would walk out the front door with it, but sure enough, it didn't take long to see a man walking through the door with it. It's pretty unbelievable. If you would like to see the surveillance video, it is included in the YouTube video on this page. If you are able to share this video to your social media feed, I would very much appreciate it!
